New Jersey Youth Corps (NJYC)
New Jersey Youth Corps of Middlesex County is a program to re-engage out of school youth ages 16-25. The program operates three (3) sixteen-week cycles each year beginning in July, October, and February. Corpsmembers attend five days per week from 9:30 am -3:00 pm. They spend half of their day in the classroom preparing for the High School Equivalency Exam and the remainder of the day they join a work crew for paid community work experience.
The Work Crew does a variety of tasks including landscaping, painting, and maintenance for various Non-Profit Organizations in Middlesex County. the program includes career and personal counseling. At the completion of the twelve-week cycle, corps members may earn a position for an additional twelve weeks on the Full-time Crew.
